Computing and Human Rights

Michael ‘Six’ Silberman

  1. I work as a postdoctoral researcher in the iManage Project at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, University of Oxford.
  2. I also serve as the Lecturer in Sociotechnical Systems at the London College of Political Technology (Newspeak House).
  3. My research, teaching, and civil society engagement concern computing and human rights, especially workers’ rights.
  4. I investigate why so many computing systems violate human rights, and what can be done about it. Recent publications and talks.
  5. I have worked as a software engineer in nonprofits and social enterprises and as a political officer in trade unions. My graduate degrees are in new media art and human-computer interaction. Bio.
